All about the Bloodlines
Bloodlines are the families that make up the pack. If there are over three wolves of the same family in the pack, they are considered a pack bloodline. The bloodlines within the pack are separated into four groups, which include, the royal family, alpha lines, beta lines, and delta lines. Generally, when a family is officially part of a Northern Frost bloodline, they will start off as a delta line.
- The royal family consists of only one bloodline. They are the most dominant family within the pack.
- An alpha line is usually a large and dedicated bloodline to Northern Frost. They hold the most dominant status under the royal family. (usually, has at least 10 members)
- A beta line usually consists of an average amount of wolves dedicated to Northern Frost. They hold average status within the pack. (Usually, has at least 6 members)
- A delta line is usually a small bloodline dedicated to the pack. They hold the least amount of dominance when compared to the other bloodlines, though still hold higher status than those not a part of an official bloodline. (Usually, has at least 3 members)
Upon two wolves bonding (becoming mates), the family and offspring will generally retain the last name of the bloodline with higher status. If both bloodlines have the same status, they will keep that male's last name unless requested otherwise.
It is important to note, that an individual wolf's dominance is not based off their bloodline, but usually their rank and overall commitment to the pack. Nor should those of less dominant bloodlines be treated with less respect. For generations, the pack has been known for their acceptance of everyone, finding the good in them and respecting them for their ways, and very rarely is a wolf treated worse than anyone else.
You may choose to join in any bloodline marked open with your own character and is assumed that your wolf is in some way is related to others in that bloodline. If a bloodline is marked closed, you may not create a character for that bloodline unless you get permission from the bloodlines creator or adopt a character already in the bloodline.
